YoY Definition & Meaning

Year-over-Year is a term, typically related to finance, to compare results from one year to the previous year. Typically seen in things such as a financial report or business growth plan, the term ‘YoY’ now has a very applicable use case.

Examples

  1. Company X reported a 27% YoY growth in its 2023 Q4 report
  2. Our startup is growing at a 120% YoY rate, but that is not sustainable
